Bios

One line

Woodstock, Georgia's Spencer Scott Smith & The Cherokee Roses play red-clay Americana with an edge: country, blues and soul, loud when it needs to be.

Short (about 60 words)

Spencer Scott Smith & The Cherokee Roses are a five-piece Americana band from Woodstock, Georgia. Frontman Spencer Scott Smith has been performing since age nine and plays around two hundred nights a year; the Roses are the full-band version of that sound, country with an edge, peppered with blues, R&B and soul. New single Spinning 'Round Again is out November 11, 2026.

Medium (about 150 words)

Raised on the red clay river banks of North Georgia, Spencer Scott Smith grew up with a Mississippi twist in his ear: a little edge on the country, peppered with blues, R&B and a big helping of soul. He has performed since he was nine, with ensembles around the world, earned a music degree, and now plays close to two hundred dates a year across metro Atlanta and the North Georgia mountains.

The Cherokee Roses, named for the state flower that grows wild along Georgia's backroads, are the band he built for the nights that call for drums: Mark Grundhoefer on guitar, J.T. Lee on bass, Brian Henry on drums and Eric Johnson on keys. They debuted at MadLife Stage & Studios in February 2026, recorded live for a TV episode and a live album, and followed with 529 in East Atlanta, festival dates in Roswell, and the Rhythm Ranch sessions that produced the new single, Spinning 'Round Again, out November 11, 2026.
